We've tried television and we're also giving radio a go but maybe it'll look even better on paper!
Next we set up an interview with Sharon Lange from the Sylvania Advantage Newspaper. I can talk all I want but at the end of the day my voice won't be heard; you'll just have to read about it;) You do have to admit, we have all avenues covered. One way or another we'll get the word out about the Bike To The Bay, and hopefully we can snag some more riders that didn't know about the ride before.

So I already had my TV debut, and we all managed to get through it unscathed. Now we have to give the radio a shot! I mean, I should be a shoe-in, after all, I've been told numerous times that I have the perfect face for Radio!! Hey, call it what you want, I'm gonna take it as a compliment!!
So Fred LeFebvre and I finally pinned down a time to have me on his radio show and the good news is... number one, his show airs very early (6 - 9 am) so in case it's a bomb out, a lot of people may still be sleeping... and number two, since it's radio I could always show up in my PJs... okay, maybe not a good idea...
The first thing we need to do is meet and discuss what we want to talk about; we'll do that this Tuesday. I know it's supposed to be about "The Bike To The Bay", but this could be my chance to voice my opinion about anything I want:) I'm sure he'll ask me to stick to the topic... Oh well:)
Then a few days later I'll be live on the air so be sure to tune in to 1370 am radio Friday, May 9th!! And please join or sponsor our team!!

Please humor me and watch the interview between Joe Nugent from 13 abc news and I tonight. This is so exciting! I'm hoping it will bring a lot of attention to the Bike to the bay and help our teams raise more money for MS.
Joe, his camera man and I spent about an hour trying to get the footage that would make the most impact and believe it or not I wasn't lacking for words:) Then they attached a Go Pro camera to my bike and had me ride back and forth on the bike trail, adjusting the camera and microphone from place to place.
I must have rode that same stretch around 300 times, (give or take...) And from what I understand, shooting from all different angles then piecing it together gives the appearance of a crew of ten camera men. Who knew... After so many shots I sure hope they were able to come up with at least 30 seconds of interesting material!!
If you aren't going to be around to watch it you could always set your DVR for the 6:00 and 11:00 news (6:20 ish and 11:20 ish to be exact), hopefully it will be informative and explain what the ride means to me as well as the other riders along with those with MS.
The Joe will have the interview up on the ABC website and link it to The Leapfrog site, so there's no excuse not to catch it. Who knows, I may end up finding my calling yet, and we'll all be saying remember way back when... Okay, there I go dreaming again, lol.

Well this Friday Joe Nugent will be interviewing me about The Bike To The Bay and then airing it on ABC news next Monday, and I would love nothing more than to be able to say we made our goal of fifty riders on Team Leapfrog:) Even if we come close to our number it might get others to register and help us out.
So if you're just waiting for the right time to sign up this would be a great one! Please help make this team impressive so we can live up to the idea that we're going on a leap of faith that we can make a huge difference to beat this disease:)

I mentioned a while back that Joe Nugent, the sports caster for ABC news was going to do a story about my team, as well as the fundraisers with Bob Evans restaurants. Well we finally nailed down a date.
We'll tape it on Friday, April 18th and the piece will air on Monday April 21st, two days before the next fundraiser which is Wednesday, April 23rd. My hope is to be able to tell him we're close to, or at our goal of 50 team members. How awesome would that be?!?! The team is really growing but there are a lot of people still interested in joining our team that haven't signed up yet. If anyone knows of someone who's interested, please ask them to sign up so we can have a big number by the time we shoot the story:)

It just keeps getting better! Reeves talked to Joe Nugent from ABC news and Joe said he wants to interview Jason, the general manager from Bob Evans and me about our fundraiser!! How cool is that?!?! he also wants to wants to shoot some footage of me training for the ride. Right now with the cold weather I ride the stationary bike about 14 miles three days a week at DMC Technology where I work part time, so that's where we'll be.
To think early fall I was lucky to make it eight miles with out dropping dead from exhaustion, and now 14... of course my legs are numb and feel like jello when I'm done so this should be interesting on the ride, but it's all for the cause and where there's a will there's a way!!
I'll keep you posted on when it will air and after that I'll be available for autographs! Lol. Who knows, some day you may be saying "I knew her way back when!" A girl can dream can't she:)

If we're going to make the 25th year Bike To The Bay huge then we're going to have to get media help, so the first person Reeves contacted was Fred LeFebvre from 1370 WSPD AM radio, and asked him if he would put us on the air a few times to promote our cause. He said he would be happy to! Now it's getting exciting! There sure are a lot of people out there that care about this great cause:)
I know Reeves has several other media avenues he wants to pursue but I'm thrilled to even get one! Between him getting media and me with the sponsors and fundraisers, we have this! Keep your Eyes peeled and ears open because we'll be around!
